The Hiker
This will be short, because the challenge and cause pages are much more interesting than typing about myself into the abyss.

About Me
I’m Kristen, I’m from (central – it’s real!) New Jersey, and I’m currently living in England. I was a Girl Scout for 12 years, but after starting uni / work, I found myself not spending as much time giving back. Meanwhile, important causes haven’t disappeared. Cancer is one that’s affected many people I care about, and it took the first person I ever lost. Successful research has relied heavily on donations from fundraisers like this. It might seem like too broad a cause, or like your donation won’t make a dent – but that’s just it! Most people’s single donation *won’t* make a dent, so that’s why I’m trying to rally fellow hikers, family, and friends around this cause. There is power in numbers! This is true for some hikes, as well…so I hope to see you out there with me 🙂
I’ve always loved the outdoors, but hiking and climbing have become my passions for the last decade. I had to pause these for a year to deal with an ankle injury (OLT), but I’ve been cleared to resume hiking! I’m aiming to complete this challenge over ~2 years, beginning March 30th. During this time, an estimated 40+ million people will be diagnosed with cancer. So much great work has been done, but there’s so much more left to do. Please consider donating if you’re able, hiking and spreading the word if you’re able (look out for some thank-you gifts on my AACR donation page!), and even taking on your own ‘Crown of Cureope’ if it fits your goals!
